THE Australian Greens Party in Australia has slammed Labor’s current policy on asylum seekers.

Speaking before the National Press club in Canberra last week, Greens leader Senator Christine Milne said that the Labor’s approach towards asylum seekers has been a national disgrace to Australians.

THE Joint Civil Society Group is planning to circulate a nationwide petition to oust Prime Minster Gordon Darcy Lilo.

The interim executive committee of the Joint Civil Society Group explained this during their brief media conference last Friday, in their continuing bid to force Mr Lilo out of office.

According to the Acting CEO of Anti-corruption Solomon Islands and interim chairman of the Joint Civil Society Group ] Barnabas Henson, currently the group is working towards a petition calling on the PM to honourably step down.

MORE than hundreds of immediate family members, relatives, work colleagues and government leaders bid farewell to the late Andrew Nori at a lengthy, emotional funeral on Wednesday at Maranata hall.

A close friend Alex Bartlett portrayed the prominent lawyer and former politician as a true champion of peace; respect authority; and always abide by law and culture of Solomon Islands.

“Late Nori had been a great leader, chief, friend, and son of Solomon Islands.

“In 2000 the country experienced the greatest social bloodshed [Ethnic Tension] in Solomon Islands history.
