MISS Solbrew 2013 Pannilla Teika (pictured) has urged the National Government to invest more in the tourism sector to improve the country’s economy.

Ms Teika made the call during the crowning night of Miss Solomon during a quiz category of the pageants finale last weekend.

Miss Solbrew picked a question on her opinion if the Government should prioritize developing the national economy.

“We have many beautiful tourism sites and islands that very much will suit tourism that will surely boost our economy,” Ms Teika stated.

She however, said the rising issue of climate change may be a hindrance to tourism development.

“In reality rising sea level is experienced and needs to be addressed, the Government must now act in order to enhance the economy,” the 4th runner up Miss Solbrew said.

Meanwhile, the Miss Carpenters Tema Wickham was crowned Miss Solomon for 2013/14, and Solomon Island will host this year’s Miss South Pacific on December 6th.
