SIVB Invites More to FB Page
Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau (SIVB) has called on public in-tuned to Social Media to help expand the bureau’s audience base.
SIVB Marketing Manager Freda Unusi made this request on facebook this week after realizing the impacts of social media to the growing industry in the country.
She posted that a yet to be released survey from the Bureau has found visitors spending per night increasing from up to $1400 at an average of 15 days in the Solomon Islands.
Moreover, in 2012 the total visitor arrivals were 23,900.
This meant that the tourism industry injected about 51 million into the economy.
However, the potential for tourism money to help local tourism operators is yet to be released.
“We want to raise visitor arrivals and we want you to help us” she posted on the Bureaus marketing page.
Therefore she stressed that tourism Promotion for Solomon Islands must move out and expand its base.
She said that as part of developing this SIVB is calling on supporters to access the bureaus site on visitsolomons facebook Site and like the page.
In addition she also called on friends who also have friends overseas to share the link to them and help promote and expand the tourism industry in the country.
